What British Nationals need to get married legally in Thailand.

British citizen marrying in Thailand needs to first make an appointment before they go to their embassy.

Then before you go to their embassy they need to type out their affidavits online which are required to be signed and stamped by their embassy in Bangkok. you also require certified copies of passports.  The embassy also requires you to prepay the embassy fees and these are nonrefundable. The documents can’t be witnessed at any other embassy than the British embassy in Bangkok.

At your appointment, the embassy will issue certification on the spot and normally only takes about 30 minutes at the appointed time.

If you have been married before you must prove you are now free again to get married. That is done by taking your original divorce certificate or your Spouse’s death certificate if you are a widow. These documents must be issued in Britain or talk to us and we will tell you your options.  How to get a copy of your decree absolute or final order
